Our Mission

With phone scams, phishing emails, and fraudulent websites on the rise, we believe everyone should have access to quick, reliable information to help them make safe decisions.

CheckItFirst provides a simple way to check phone numbers, email addresses, and domains to help you identify potential risks before engaging.

We've also created a Facebook community group where you can connect with others, share experiences, and stay informed about the latest scam trends.

How We Work

• We use publicly available data from Ofcom to classify UK phone numbers
• We check domains against blocklists from Phishing Army to identify potentially dangerous websites
• We go one step further by keeping historical blocklist data — so even if a domain has been removed from a blocklist, we'll still show it was previously flagged
• We maintain a curated whitelist of trusted domains from major organisations
• We identify known email providers to help distinguish between personal and business emails
• Users can report their experiences anonymously using structured buttons
• Reports are aggregated to show patterns without identifying individuals
• We never share personal data. Report descriptions are optional, moderated, and designed to provide context
• Email lookups are privacy-protected: email result pages aren't indexed by search engines and we don't publish browseable lists of email addresses
